Reread review
This third book reminded me of how much I love Sarah J. Maas and the way she can make feel so many emotions in one single book.
If Crown of Midnight made me change my mind about Chaol, Heir of Fire helped me see Dorian in a new angle. I mean I always liked Dorian, but didn’t think much more of him until the later books. But now I think he is a cinnamon roll and must be protected at all cost (I remembered how his point of view ended, but still it broke my heart and the worst is yet to come for him in book four).
Also, it might be weird to say, but I love reading about Celaena’s struggle because she feels so real and human. I think she might be my favorite female MC by SJM.
Heir of Fire also introduced new characters and I remember from my first reading that I was a little bit confused to why we were given their point of views. But they turned to be so important to the story. So rereading that with the knowledge that I have made it even better. I mean Manon makes Celaena looks like a choir child, and Abraxos is so precious.
And Rowan. Those two words say a lot if you already read the series. But I had forgotten how much of a meany he was at the beginning of this book! I mean his characters had the best development in the span of one single book! I loved rereading about Celaena getting to hate/know Rowan and when the banter starts to get friendly, it was the best thing.
Honestly, I think rereading this series is probably the best decision I made in 2020.
